Semblanza

Se doctoró en la Universidad de Las Palmas, España. Ha publicado 96 artículos en revistas indizadas y numerosos capítulos de libros (33 h-index). Miembro fundador de la Sociedad Latinoamericana y del Caribe de Ficología, fue Presidente de la Sociedad Mexicana de Ficología, actualmente es Presidente de la Asociación Internacional de Algas Marinas.
