Resumen:
Phylogenetic profiling and metagenomics of Agaves and Cacti from Central and North America have revealed diverse and structured microbial communities with core microbial taxa in each plant compartment. In silico correlation network and comparative metagenomic analyses suggest that microorganisms in the rhizosphere and phyllosphere of these arid-adapted CAM plants have characteristic strategies for colonization and survival and provide different benefits to their host plants to succeed in drylands.
