Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics at the Centro de Investigación y de Estudios Avanzados del Instituto Politécnico Nacional (Cinvestav), in Mexico City, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Mathematics. About the Department: Department of Mathematics at Cinvestav is dedicated to excellence in research, education, and collaboration with various sectors in Mexico. Our faculty members engage in a broad spectrum of research areas, including but not limited to:

Computational Algebra, Commutative Algebra, Non-associative Algebra, C*-Algebras, Complex Analysis, Combinatorics, Algebraic Combinatorics, Computation, Optimal Control and Dynamic Games, Operator Theory, Differential Equations, Partial Differential Equations, Mathematical Physics, Algebraic and Symplectic Geometry, Algebraic Topology, Differential Geometry, Probability.

Position Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Carry out research in Mathematics, publish research work in international peer-review journals.
• Teach graduate-level courses and supervise graduate students.
• Contribute to the academic life of the department through service and outreach.

Qualifications:

• A Ph.D. in Mathematics.
• A demonstrated potential for excellence in research and teaching.
• The ability to work collaboratively in a diverse academic environment.

1. A cover letter addressing how your research aligns with the areas of interest of the department. The letter must include at the end the names and email addresses of at least three researchers who can endorse the candidacy of the applicant. Upon the closing of the application period, we will contact these researchers to directly request their letters of recommendation.
2. A curriculum vitae including complete list of publications highlighting five (5) selected works most relevant to the position.
3. A research statement.
4. A teaching statement.
